April Absurdity: Day 5 Results

#12 Bowling Green at #5 South Florida:
South Florida, 24-10

Despite an early 7-0 deficit, 5th seeded South Florida overcame the 12th seeded Falcons of Bowling Green and won, 24-10. Despite not starting the great Pat Julmiste at QB, the Bulls scored 21 unanswered points to end the game, all touchdown passes (and two of them over 56 yards in length). Bowling Green scored the first points of the game, a 1 yard touchdown pass, but it was all Bulls from there as 5th seeded South Florida defeated 12th seeded Bowling Green, 24-10.

#13 Syracuse at #4 Oregon State:
Syracuse, 17-10 (2OT)

Upset Special! 13th seeded Syracuse walks into 4th seeded Oregon State and wins in double overtime, 17-10. The Orange scored on a 66 yard touchdown pass with 3 seconds left in the first quarter, and led until with 1 SECOND LEFT IN THE GAME - 1 SECOND!!! - Stroughter from the Beavers returned a punt 68 yards for a touchdown to send it to OT. The first overtime had two field goals, and then in the second the Orange scored on a 9 yard touchdown pass. Oregon State got a first down with Yvenson Bernard, but then they threw a pick to lose the first round matchup as 13th seeded Syracuse upset 4th seeded Oregon State, 17-10 in 2 overtimes.

#16 Montana at #1 Louisville:
Louisville, 17-14

Wait... what? Louisville took the lead in the second quarter with two 67+ yard passing touchdowns by Brian Brohm, but then the Grizzlies came back. A 3 yard pass from QB #7 to TE #48 brought it back to 14-7, and then an INT return by CB #13 went 36 yards for a touchdown to make it 14-all at the beginning of the third! But, Louisville kicked a field goal, and then held to get the first round win as #1 seeded Louisville defeated 16th seeded Montana, 17-14.

#9 Washington State at #8 Pittsburgh:
Pittsburgh, 13-6

Pitt makes it 2 out of 4 for 8 seeds with their 13-6 win over Washington State. The Cougars scored first, on a field goal, but a 37 yard touchdown pass by Pittsburgh was the only touchdown of the game, caught with two seconds left in the first half. WSU kicked a field goal in the third but two field goals by Pitt in the fourth gave 8th seeded Pittsburgh the 13-6 victory over 9th seeded Washington State.
